Tutorial 03 · Get reviews

Import reviews from a CSV file

Upload up to 1,000 reviews per product from a spreadsheet. Works without any extension.

4 min read

CSV import is the simplest way to get reviews into the app, and it works in any browser without the extension. Each file holds the reviews for one product.

Prepare the file

One review per row, with a header row. Download the sample file and replace its rows with yours.

ColumnRequiredWhat goes in it
ratingYesA whole number from 1 to 5
titleOne of the twoThe review's headline
reviewThe review text
authorNoThe reviewer's name as shown on Amazon
dateNoWhen the review was written (formats below)
verified_purchaseNoyes or no
review_idNoAmazon's review ID, if you have it. Without it, the app recognises a review in later imports by its author, date and text.

Date formats the app understands

  • 2026-08-17, 17 August 2026, August 17, 2026
  • Amazon's own wording, like Reviewed in India on 2 August 2026
  • German, French, Spanish, Italian, Dutch and Japanese dates as Amazon writes them

Import it

  1. Open the product's menuOn Home, find the product under Connected products and open its actions menu (⋯).
  2. Choose Import reviewsChoose Import reviews and add your CSV file.
  3. ConfirmIf the product already has Amazon reviews, the app warns you that they'll be replaced. Confirm to import.

All or nothing. If any row has a problem, nothing is imported and the app lists up to 10 row errors, like a rating of 6 or a row with no title or text. Fix them and import again.

Limits

  • Up to 1,000 reviews per product, and 2 MB per file.
  • Each import replaces that product's Amazon reviews, in one step.
  • Reviews your shoppers wrote are never replaced. Your replies, edits and hidden reviews stay attached to reviews that come back in the new file.

Keep reviews up to date

Reviews don't refresh from Amazon by themselves. When a product has new reviews worth showing, import an updated file, or collect again with the Chrome extension.

Rather not build spreadsheets? The optional Chrome extension collects reviews straight from Amazon, picked to match the product's star mix. See how.

Stuck on a step?

In the app, choose Help at the bottom right and Talk to support, or email support@tangledata.com. Tell us the product and what you see.
