What the file should contain
One review per row, with a header row. These columns work with Amazon Review Sync's importer and map easily to other review apps:
| Column | What goes in it |
|---|---|
rating | A whole number from 1 to 5 |
title | The review's headline |
review | The review text |
author | The reviewer's name as Amazon shows it |
date | When it was written, like 2026-08-17 or Amazon's own "Reviewed in India on 2 August 2026" |
verified_purchase | yes or no |
review_id | Amazon's review ID, if you have it (from the review's link) |
Download a sample file and replace its rows with yours.
Way 1: build it by hand
- Open the product's reviewsOn Amazon, open the product and choose "See more reviews". The address contains
/product-reviews/and the product's ASIN. - Work through it by starUse the star filter to open 5-star, 4-star and so on in turn. That makes it easier to keep the same mix as Amazon (see below).
- Copy each review into a rowRating, title, text, name, date, and whether it says "Verified Purchase".
- Save as CSV, UTF-8In Google Sheets, File → Download → CSV. In Excel, Save As → "CSV UTF-8". UTF-8 keeps accents and non-English text intact.
Keep the star mix
Amazon shows a percentage per star on the product page. If you copy 100 reviews and Amazon shows 70% five-star, 15% four-star, 6% three-star, 3% two-star and 6% one-star, aim for about 70, 15, 6, 3 and 6 rows. A selection of only the best reviews misleads shoppers, and in the US it can break the FTC's rule on review suppression. More in Showing Amazon reviews honestly.
Way 2: let the app collect them, then export
If you'll show the reviews on Shopify anyway, skip the spreadsheet. Amazon Review Sync's optional Chrome extension opens the product's reviews in your own logged-in Amazon tab and collects 10 to 1,000 of them, picked to match the product's star mix. It takes about a minute per 100 reviews.
Once they're in, choose Export reviews and download them as:
- A spreadsheet (CSV) with every field, the product, SKU, ASIN and marketplace.
- A Judge.me import file, ready for Judge.me's spreadsheet import. How to import it.
Files are UTF-8 and open cleanly in Excel.
Mistakes that break imports
- Ratings as text like "5.0 out of 5 stars". Keep just the number.
- Saved as .xlsx instead of .csv.
- Line breaks inside a review without quotes around the field. Spreadsheet apps add the quotes for you when they save as CSV; text editors don't.
- Rows with no title and no text. Every row needs at least one of the two.
Skip the spreadsheet. Collect a product's Amazon reviews in about a minute per hundred, free for 14 days. Install Amazon Review Sync.
